OVERVIEW
Rated as one of the Top 25 Best Places to Live for 2005 by Money magazine and CNN/Money, Fishers is quickly becoming one of the suburbs of choice for both Indianapolis and Hamilton County workers. It has an impressive growth rate with a wide range of housing options including new, single-family homes, condominiums, and apartments. Homes are generally priced between $100,000 and $1,000,000.
Fishers is rapidly becoming an upscale residential and commercial center, which extends from White River on the west to Geist Reservoir on the east. Its easy access to highways is just one of the reasons Fishers is becoming a preferred location for corporate headquarters and exclusive residential subdivisions.
LOCATION
The town of Fishers is located at the intersection of Interstate 69 and 116th Street, only 2 minutes north of Indianapolis/Marion County border. Easy access to I-465, Indiana St.Rd. 37 and I-69 makes Fishers especially popular for commuters.

GOVERNMENT
Facts :
Fishers, Indiana, formerly known as Fishers Station and originally as Fishers Switch, came into being in June of 1872 when Salathiel Fisher divided his land into town lots.
Fire
At the time of the purchase, William Conner was living in Delaware Township operating a trading post, which is now the modern day Conner Prarie Museum. Conner's house was connected via Indian trail to Anderson and Connersville, and by a state road to Ft. Wayne. Portions of this state road later became present day Allisonville Road.
Library :
Fishers populations grew slowly to 388 in the 1960s. The relocation of Indiana Highway 37 to the east side of town and the subsequent connection with I-69 insured the future growth of Fishers as a commercial and residential center.
Fire
Presently, the town of Fishers is rapidly becoming an upscale residential and commercial center, which extends from White River on the west to Geist Reserve on the east. In addition to becoming a preferred location for corporate headquarters and exclusive residential subdivisions, Fishers has also retained its small-town charm along with cultural amenities, such as Conner Prairie and Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve.
Library :
Fishers is now governed by a 7-member Town Board of Trustees. (Fishers Department of Development)
